Collecting Information for Descendancy Charts
If you don't know all the information you need to fill out the descendancy chart you want to make, you may need to reach out to family members for help!
First, you'll probably want to decide what information you want to showcase—we'd recommend full name and birth year (and death year, if applicable) as a good starting place.
We've created a few templates you can use for gathering information, both an Google Spreadsheet (if you'd prefer to collect in a spreadsheet) as a well as a Google Doc (if you prefer to collect in bullet point form instead).

To use one of our templates, you'll need to go to "File">"Make a Copy" (if you'd like to send it to someone as an editable Google Doc) or "File">"Download"(if you'd prefer to send it as a file they can edit only on their local machine).
Then all you'll need to do is compose a quick email (be sure to give people a date when you need their information by!) and you're all set!
